• Specialists in private baby ultrasound scans. Dating scans from 6 weeks, Gender scans from 16 weeks, 3D & 4D baby scans from 26 weeks & Fetal Assessment

3D/4D & Anomaly Scans

Unlike 2D scans that are performed by your gynecologist to check the well-being of your baby, a 4D baby scan uses amazing ultrasound technology to show you what baby actually looks like. This can give you a first real look at baby’s features such as face, arms and legs. By throwing movement into the mix as well you can peek into the womb to see what your baby is up to.

We also provide the 20 week anomaly scan at a very competitive price. Our sonographer doing these scans is an expert in anomaly scans and has been doing this for a number of years.

Gender & Dating Scans

It is human nature to be curious. Most of us want to know whether it is a boy or a girl as soon as possible or whether you are indeed pregnant. Let us take a look and see if it's pink or blue. Why subject yourself to the torture of Auntie Deloris with her pendulum swinging over your tummy and she murmuring something about how she always gets it right.

Rather use modern technology to put you out of your misery. Nothing in the world is 100% guaranteed but we can at least have a look and give you our expert opinion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there no sound on the video?

We have been adviser due to various medical legal issues not to record any consultation sessions which unfortunately include the heartbeat.

What is an Ultrasound?

An ultrasound scan, sometimes called a sonogram, is a procedure that uses high - frequency sound waves to create an image of part of the inside of the body.

An ultrasound scan can be used to monitor an unborn baby, diagnose a condition, or guide a surgeon during certain procedures.

What is a Baby Scan / Pregnancy Ultrasound?

A pregnancy Ultrasound is an imaging test that uses high frequency sound waves to create pictures of a baby in the womb, as well as the mother’s reproductive organs.

Along with a standard 2D Ultrasound, there are a number of different, more advanced, Ultrasounds including a 3D Ultrasound and a 4D Ultrasound.

What is a 2D Ultrasound?

This is "standard" or "conventional" Ultrasound scan which provides an image in two dimensions.  During these 2D scans you can see position of the baby and visible heartbeat. 2D scans are therefore still the most common form of Ultrasound. 2D Ultrasounds are used for Dating Scans as well as to determine the sex (gender) of your baby.

What is a 3D/4D Ultrasound?

A 3D Ultrasound follows the same procedure as a standard Ultrasound, but uses a special probe and software to create the 3D image. It also requires special training for the technician.

Unlike a traditional 2D Ultrasound, a 3D Ultrasound allows you to see the width, height and depth of the baby and sonographers and parents can also view baby’s hands, feet and face.  These images are also be recorded for parents to keep.

A 4D Ultrasound creates a moving video of the fetus. This creates a better image of the baby’s face and movements. A 4D Ultrasound is also better able to capture highlights and shadows. A 4D Ultrasound is done in a similar manner to other Ultrasounds, but with special equipment.

In short, What is the difference between 2D & 3D/4D Ultrasound?

2D is a black and white ultrasound. The picture shows no dimensions of the baby. 3D ultrasound captures a three-dimensional image of your baby. 3D is a still image, while 4D adds the element of motion so it looks like a video.

Regular visits to your Gyneacologist or clinic is still important

Although we offer Gender, Dating, 3D/4D and Fetal Assessment Scans, this is not a replacement for the routine diagnostic examinations. You still need to visit your Gyneacologist or clinic regularly. The 3D/4D technology scan is to create a unique bonding experience between you and your baby.
